PETOSKEY – February 24, 2020 – St. Michael Academy (SMA), Northern Michigan’s only Classical Catholic high school, is very pleased to announce that it has successfully reached its recent $100,000 fundraising goal, earning a $100,000 matching gift from an anonymous donor.
The $100,000 raised by SMA is in addition to the $150,000 in recurring annual donations pledged by Guardians Club members in last year’s fundraising campaign.
SMA also announced that by reaching its $100,000 goal, an additional gift matching opportunity of $25,000, from a second anonymous donor, is now unlocked. New gifts, new Guardians Club memberships, and increases in existing Guardians Club member pledges received by February 29 will qualify for the matching funds.
“We continue to be humbled by the generosity of our benefactors,” stated SMA Headmaster Dr. Richard Brake. “Their outpouring of love and support will allow us to inspire more joyful Christian leaders in the Truth, Goodness, and Beauty of Western Civilization. Now more than ever, our community needs young people who can defend the faith and perform the duties of American citizenship – a mission that requires outstanding teachers and the resources to attract them and keep them. Thank you for your support!”
“Receiving so much new support at this level is a blessing and a testament to the significance of our mission,” added St. Michael Foundation Executive Director Marie Law. “We extend a huge thank you and warm welcome to all first-time donors, as well as heartfelt gratitude to our dedicated family of existing donors, including our Guardians Club members and all who blessed us with additional support.”
