PETOSKEY – September 26, 2019 – St. Michael Academy (SMA), Northern Michigan’s only Classical Catholic high school, announced today that it has strengthened its Philosophy department with the addition of two new teachers to its staff.
SMA Principal Dr. Richard Brake stated, “We are pleased to welcome Mr. Mark Spinnenweber and Mr. Paul Radatovich to our staff for the new school year. Both men are distinguished graduates of Franciscan University of Steubenville, Ohio, a premier institution of Classical Catholic education.”
Mr. Spinnenweber earned Bachelor’s Degrees in Philosophy and French, graduating summa cum laude. He also earned a Master’s Degree in Philosophy. He studied in the Honors program at Franciscan and presented a variety of papers at academic conferences while earning several academic awards. He grew up in Steubenville as the son of two professors, immersed in the rich tradition of Franciscan University.
Mr. Radatovich earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a minor in Philosophy. His unique combination of operational and academic knowledge presents a superb fit at SMA, where he will teach a variety of courses in both the junior and senior high while assisting with the marketing and promotion of the school.
Mr. Spinnenweber and Mr. Radatovich join fellow Franciscan University graduate, Mr. Andy Moe, and Mr. Shea Whitmore, a graduate of Hillsdale College who is now pursuing a Master’s Degree from Franciscan. All four gentlemen teach courses spanning the broad array of Humanities offered at SMA, including Philosophy, Theology, Literature, Latin, Logic, and History.
Dr. Brake concluded, “With Mark and Paul joining our already stellar Humanities faculty, SMA can now offer more top-flight college-level instruction to our growing student body. Together, they offer SMA students a tremendous wealth of knowledge and insight into the True, Good, and Beautiful of Western Civilization.”
SMA is still accepting new students for the 2019-20 academic year. SMA is committed to providing a Classical Catholic education and is pleased to offer tuition assistance to qualifying families. No student is denied enrollment because of financial reasons.
