PETOSKEY — The valedictorian for St. Michael Academy’s graduating class of 2019 is Abigail Kendziorski and the salutatorian is Madeline Law.
Kendziorski’s mother and father are Doug and Heidi Kendziorski. She graduates with a 3.99 grade point average.
While in high school, Kendziorski participated in the school liturgy as a choir member and lector. She also took part in quiz bowl and played on the school’s inaugural volleyball team, as well as the softball co-op team with Harbor Light Christian School.
Kendziorski took college classes at North Central Michigan College for the past two years. She has also been the first chair in the flute section for the Petoskey band. She graduates with high academic honors and also has completed Brown Cord service hours all four years.
After graduation, Kendziorski plans to attend Ave Maria University in Florida, majoring in humanities and liberal studies. She is the recipient of the Ave Maria Academic Scholarship and Leadership Award.
Greg and Marie Law are Madeline Law’s parents. She will graduate with a 3.82 grade point average.
While in high school, Law participated in varsity volleyball, quiz bowl, drama and yearbook and also played percussion in the Petoskey bands for two years. In addition, Law served as president of the student council, co-director of the choir and founder and president of the Student Ambassadors Club at St. Michael Academy.
Law will graduate with First Honors for academic achievement and Brown Cord Honors for volunteer hours.
After graduation, Law plans to attend Saint Mary’s College of Notre Dame to study English literature and writing and photography. She is the recipient of the Madeleva Academic Scholarship Award and the Mother Pauline Award at Saint Mary’s College.
St. Michael Academy will host its graduation ceremony at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 1.
